From April 23 to 28, 2026, an international scientific field expedition was conducted in Tajikistan to study the biodiversity and ecological condition of meadow ecosystems in different natural and climatic zones of the country. The research was carried out with the participation of scientists from the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Northeast Normal University, and the Institute of Botany, Plant Physiology and Genetics, with coordination and support from the Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia.

On April 10, 2026, a scientific event dedicated to the celebration of the Week of Tajik Science was held at the Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia (Dushanbe) of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.

From 11 to 14 September 2025, researchers of the Research Centre for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia took part in research in the area of Lake Sarez and its upper reaches (Rushan and Murghab districts of GBAO) in a joint expedition with representatives of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Main Department of Geology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan with the support of the Aga Khan Habitat Agency.

From August 29 to September 2, 2025, the Center's employees conducted a study and monitoring of the state of glaciers and glacial lakes in the Surkhob River basin. In the course of field research, aerial photography of the tongue part of the Said Nafisi glacier, where several small glacial lakes are located, was carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles. Glacial lakes in mountainous areas pose a serious danger.
