Main information

  The Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia (Dushanbe), in cooperation with the Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, installed monitoring and observation stations at different elevations along the Maykhura section of the Dushanbe–Khujand highway to reduce avalanche risk and ensure continuous monitoring.

Project Objective

  The project aims to develop scientific and practical foundations for avalanche prevention and introduce modern warning systems to reduce the risk of natural disasters.
